About us

If You Can Breathe, You Can Do Yoga

An affordable, accessible yoga and movement studio in the heart of Central Louisiana.

Lyndon Marcotte, owner of The Studio

Our Story

My name is Lyndon Marcotte, and I'm the owner of The Studio Yoga + Movement in Alexandria, Louisiana. I took over the studio from Kim Phillips, who opened its doors around 2023 and built a strong, thriving yoga community here through years of hard work and dedication.

I've been teaching yoga and meditation in Cenla since 2012, and The Studio was always one of my favorite places to teach. I'm honored to build on a great foundation of community and practice.

Why I Teach

Yoga and meditation aren't just my profession, they're personal. Years ago, after struggling with chronic illness, I came to the mat as a complete beginner. Slowly, the practice helped me rebuild my strength, find calm, and reclaim my health. I've never forgotten what being a beginner felt like, and it shapes everything about how I teach today.

Our Philosophy

My philosophy is simple: if you can breathe, you can do yoga. Every class at The Studio is built to be affordable and accessible, no matter your age, ability, or experience. Whether you're recovering from illness, managing stress, or just curious about starting a practice, you belong here.

Community

More Than a Studio

Beyond weekly classes, we host workshops, sound baths, art and mindfulness events, free meditation, and community gatherings. We partner with LSUA Continuing Education and are proud to host Cenla Meditation Group on Thursday evenings.
